A MAN is at large who indecently assaulted a teenage girl outside a church in Brunswick.
Police have released an image of a man they would like to identify in relation to the attack, which occurred a fortnight ago in Saxon St.
Moreland detectives have been told the 13-year-old was approached by an unknown man outside a clothing store on Sydney Road, about 6.30pm on Thursday, January 21.
It is believed he engaged her in conversation and convinced her to follow him across Sydney Rd, down Phoenix St and into Saxon St where it is alleged he assaulted her at the rear of a church.
Sgt Ray Freeman described the incident as unprovoked and opportunistic.
"This is a disturbing incident where an adult has taken advantage of a young person in daylight hours," he said.
The man police are looking for is described as being aged between 25 to 35 years with a dark complexion and a black beard.
He is said to be of a medium to solid build and was wearing a light green short sleeved top and dark coloured pants.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
