TWO more people have been stabbed in Melbourne overnight in the latest wave of knife crime.
A man, 19, was stabbed in the chest at Wyndham Vale about 11.05 pm yesterday after a group of five people tracked him down at a birthday party.
Police said the group went to a house in Akoona Way looking for the teenager, and attacked him when he came outside.
He was punched and stabbed twice in the upper body.
The man also suffered a wound to the right forearm and a cut above the eye.
After the attack the man chased the attackers for a short distance not realising he had been stabbed.
He was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.
Another man suffered a cut to the ear after being stabbed with what was described as a machete at a fundraising event.
Police said a group of six to 10 people arrived at the event at a sporting club at Burke and Cramwell streets, Braybrook.
After a verbal dispute, guests went back inside the club to escape the group.
But as they were closing the door, one person from the group ran at him and cut him on the ear about 11pm.
The injured man, 38, was taken to Footscray Hospital where he received stitches.
The group police is seeking is described as in Asian appearance.
